See for yourself

Here are some photos as I promised. They include Liza's two incisions. The one on her neck is obviously covered up and is not quite as long as the bandage. The one on her thigh is two levels deep, with dissolvable stitches on the inside and simple Steri-strips on the outside. There is also a shot of her IV - don't worry about the blood, that's only been there for a few moments and the nurse says it's perfectly fine. You can also see Liza reading the blog and her sad face - think of that when you read that she's in pain.

Two of Liza's three brothers are coming for a visit shortly. Steven, who is home from college at Stephen F. Austin University for the weekend, and Jacob. Jacob and his wife Amy just had their first child, Zander Joseph Staines. He will be accompanied by older brother Dylan. That ought to be very encouraging for Liza.

Liza,
You look beautiful. You probably don't think so or feel so, but you do. How anyone can look that good after having major surgery is beyond me. :) Anyway, still praying for you every day. We can't wait to see you back at dance. but of course there's no rush. You take your time, and heal up nicely. luv ya!
In Christ,
Lauren

P.S. "Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith developes perseverance"(James 1:2).

Liza,

Very excited to see they didn't shave too much hair! We've been thinking about you almost constantly and are so proud that you are being honest about your pain. I can't wait to see you in a few weeks when it's our turn to bring dinner. We love the blog and the photos!

Scot,
This is your GTA from DTS, Kelley. I just read the blog, after being reminded of your situation while grading papers :). I was out of town last week and so didn't realize how suddenly all this came upon you two. I have been praying this week. A dear friend of mine has endured two brain surgeries, for a cancerous tumor, and while I know Liza's condition is different--so thankful!--her post-surgery symptoms are similar...so I feel for her. I am grateful that things are going well and will continue to pray for Liza and you. Hang in there!

Darling Liza, it was wonderful to see the photos, almost as wonderful as a visit to you. And you look so well. Maybe soon you will be writing on this blog. It was great that Andrew came to see you, though it sounds like a train theme day rather than a visit with his mother! Soon you will be at home with both the babies and we will continue praying for you. God bless you and may he give you a wonderful day.
