It's faith, not rocket science or...

Liza and I were just trying to relax in bed and were looking through some of the posts that she hasn't been able to read. I looked specifically at the one entitled "Some Specific Prayer Requests" that posted the day before the surgery. I want you to know that each and every one of those requests were answered. She even was able to get meds before going to the OR (the Anaesthesiologist even showed me the syringe in his pocket) but we elected not to have them. That is a tremendous testimony to God's faithfulness and your fervent prayers.

Several people have commented on this blog site about faith. Those words have been tremendously encouraging to Liza and I both. While neither of us believe we are people of great faith, we believe strongly that God doesn't ask us to have faith in something that He has spoken directly about. So during this adventure, we have lent heavily on those passages of Scripture which reveal God's faithfulness, trustworthiness, and loyalty. He is a God who speaks and promises and keeps promises. While He never promises us perfect safety or freedom from disease, He does promise to hear us, to never leave us, and to never be unaware of the intricacies of our struggles (among many others). It has been these promises that have sustained us in this time. So, thank you for your wildly encouraging comments, and I pray that you have been encouraged by what God has done in our lives. What an adventure.

Hi Scot. I hope the night went well for all of you. Scot your parents have been amazing. I know they have done it before but walking into a home and taking on two toddlers is a big job. You were able to stay with Liza because of that. I'm sure that helped her to feel stronger emotionally and to feel cared for, and she was able to have her own mother at the hospital. Sonja and Liza are very close and that was necessary for both of them.
The story is not over yet. I hope you continue daily entries on the blog because there will be prayer needs each day for a while yet. God is so good. He has made us in a way that we are benefited by helping others. He wants us to pray for one another, support one another and give to one another. You and Liza have provided an opportunity for many people to pray and to give of themselves.
Also, as Liza's aunt who loves Liza and her brothers dearly, I want to thank you for being such a wonderful husband to her and such an amazing father to your two children. You and Liza are both very special people. You both give of yourselves in your work and in your daily lives, and your lives are speaking of God's grace to many people.
I love you all very much and pray that God holds you all close to Him in these days of healing.
Janine

Hello Liza, It's great to hear your home already, I'm still praying for you daily. It's been a long time since we've spoken but I want you to know I'm thinking of you and I love you dearly. This blog is great. Being so far away and out of touch, it’s not easy to know what’s going on or what to pray for. Thank you Scott for helping our family stay close.
Liza I pray for pain relief and comfortable rest. I hope you start feeling better soon,
God bless you and your family.

Scot and Liza,
Good morning - I hope that you had as restful a night as possible! There's healing in being home and I pray that for you, Liza. I know that your journey hasn't ended yet, but being home will help you to heal emotionally as well. I know Lanelle and Patrick feel so blessed to have be entrusted with Andrew and Isabel. I got to talk to Izzy on the phone the other day! What a sweetie! She talks so plain. Know that we all continue to pray and hope to see you soon!
God is good!
Love, Aunt Pam & Uncle Armand and family

Scott and Liza,
We prayed for you in class last week and I have been praying regularly for you both. That is great to hear the surgery went so well. Liza's faith and Scott's service is an incredible testimony for Christ. See you Thursday.

Hi Scot and Liza,
Liza, you don't know me,but I feel like I know you thru Scot's writings. Lanelle has kept me updated on your journey, and I wanted you to know that I have had you in my thoughts and prayers. Scot, may an old kindergarten teacher tell you how proud I am of you and your strength and love of God? You are so blessed to have each other. Sending prayers your way, Dave,Janis and Kirby Brock

Hi there Liza,,,so glad to see you got home. I've been on a high school retreat this weekend and just got in last night. Again, it's so good to have this blog to communicate. We lifted you in prayer this weekend. It's so good to see results of prayer although we never see all of God's providence. But is so wonderful to recognize it and just soak in His love. Scot thanks for the pictures. I always like to see the stiches and incisions(weird I guess). I see God's glory in the faith in you and Liza and all the people who have reached out to ya'll. He is just so awesome and so are ya'll. Take care,
I love ya'll,
Jochelle
