Puffy Head

No, I'm not calling names. Liza says that today she felt like her head was "puffy." Although that sounds somewhat serious, we can't see any serious swelling or other significant signs of something shocking...sweet! But seriously, we spoke to Shirley on the phone and she didn't seem worried about the "puffy" head. She just insisted that Liza not pick up the kids, which has been difficult for her. A fringe benefit for me has been snuggling much more with Izzy. I think she needs so much in one day and I'm getting the spill-over. Liza joined the three of us outside in the lovely, and sometimes chilly, weather for a lunch picnic. She tried unsuccessfully to get a good nap but we're set up now for a relatively uneventful evening...we hope. Here's a pic of Liza and the kids today. Please pray that the puffiness, swelling, and pain, which is almost exclusively still on her left side, will go away. Many blessings.

Dear Scott and Liza - We are so sorry to hear about this and have infinite empathy with you all. We know that God will hold you in his hand throughout this ordeal and that he will give you many blessings, directly out of this problem, that you wouldn't have had otherwise. We will be at the dinner and please know that you are in our prayers. Also, Ariel and I have very free schedules most days so if you need help with driving somewhere or watching the kids, please, please let us know. Zack always thought so much of you and you helped him so much - I can just imagine that you and your family continue to be a blessing to those around you.

Remember Zack's favorite verse -Phil. 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

I just received the email regarding the Nov 9th performance at my church, TWUMC, which directed me to your site. Liza was an instructor of mine at Boni's Dance when I was in highschool (I'm now 29) and I always had such immense respect and admiration for her as a dancer. I have since become even more impressed with her character, learning of her life goals and mission. Please pass on my "hello" to her and know that I and my family will be praying for you and yours.
I have enjoyed reading through your blog and know that your story will bring hope and encouragement to many.
LOVE! Natalie (Lawrence) Leslie (sister, Abby Lawrence)

Dear Miss Liza, I just today received an invite from the church on my email. I had heard little bits and pieces but had no idea what you and your beautiful family were going through. I will certainly be at your benefit. I am praying for you and I know that our Lord will see you through th is. The Bonis family would love to be involved with anything we can, driving, babysitting, (we love children) or cooking. (Miss Danni only of course). If there is anyone in charge of organizing any of these things please get them in touch with me. I am just sorry I was not more in tuned with what was going on. (Nutcracker as you know can consume you). Love and Prayers, Miss Boni

Hello Liza and Scot-

Rachel, my sister has a friend named Gina who had brain surgery a couple of years ago and she said the same thing about her head...she said it felt really big and she was always checking it out in the mirror to make sure she didn't look like a bobble head :)...she compared it to how your chin and tongue feel after having work done at the dentist :)...She is 100% fine now...I don't know how long all that stuff lasts...maybe Rachel can give her a call and find out some more info on brain surgery recovery. Actually, you may know her...she owns a dance studio in Magnolia...

Lots of love to all of you, from Australia. I love the photos with the children kissing you, Liza. It's so sad that you can't pick them up but they can still cuddle you and they have you at home with them. You may feel puffy but you look beautiful. Big hugs and kisses from Aunty Janine
